IOP Workshop Europe

Nuremberg - September 22, 2003. The ascolab GmbH participates in the European Interoperability (IOP) Workshop in Nuremberg. During the event - hosted by Siemens A&D (Automation & Drives) - ascolab tested new prototypes of the current Compliance Test Software against OPC Servers and products of different companies (OSI Software, Amersham Bioscience, Wonderware, Phoenix Contact, Iconics, and many others). This event offers the opportunity of European OPC Member Companies (OPC Members) to test their products, prototypes and pre-production development against each other. For one week developers of different companies worked closely together to improve compatibility and interoperability of their software products.
 

Support for OPC Compliance Test Tool

Scottsdale - June 26, 2003. OPC Foundation has choosen ascolab GmbH for half year maintenance and support contract for the current version of the OPC Compliance Test Tool. The ascolab GmbH developed a database for tracing and tracking requests and reported errors. The database design was optimized on the needs of the Foundation, by this quality and effectivity of the support increased. On demand new updates (Service Release) for the Compliance Test Software are published, especially for the modules Data Access 2, Alarm + Events, Data Access 3.
 

OPC DX Client Working Group

Foxboro - Mai 13 / 14, 2003. The OPC Foundation originates a new Working Group. Their main focus is to work out Use Cases and defining functionality of future OPC Data eXchange Clients. The goal is to define design guidelines to unify the new functions offered by the OPC Configuration Interface (OPC DX) for vendor independent and consistent exposition and general behavior of future OPC DX Clients. The ascolab GmbH joined in this Working Group from the early beginning and implemented a first prototype.
