Abstract
This two day Seminar gives a detailed introduction into the base concepts of the new OPC platform Unified Architecture and provides an overview for all new features of OPC UA. Staring with the COM based OPC specifications it explains the requirements for OPC UA and describes the concrete implementation in OPC Unified Architecture with the two main features: generic modelling of data and platform independent transport of data. Another focus is on the migration of existing OPC applications to OPC Unified Architecture. Abstract
The functionality and the complexity of OPC UA offers various possibilities for implementing applications. In this two day workshop, students learn to create their own OPC UA Server and Client applications by implementing the main features in sample OPC UA client and server applications. Students can use this knowledge to create their own connections to any device or system using OPC UA. Target Group developers and software architects Requirements The workshop requires base knowledge in object oriented software development and C++.
